Our Leather Treatment Process involves a Deep Cleanse and Condition of all leather in the vehicle including headrests & door trims, also careful cleaning of the stitching around bolsters & lumber support sections.
Deep Cleaning
Our tradesmen will choose between Dry Steam Cleaning or warm gel cleaning or both to achieve the best result.
The result is outstandingly clean leather. The pores of the leather are clean and free of residue. This concentrated effort to clean the leather is to not only clean, but allow the leather to accept the conditioning treatment more easily and prevent build-up of dirt and cracking due to leather drying out.
Conditioning/Feeding
In the manufacture of fine leather the hide is subjected to a process called ‘fat-liquoring’. It is fed a generous supply of oils which lubricate the leather and it then receives the qualities of softness, flexibility and strength.
When the leather leaves the tannery, it is at the correct pH and has oils combined to the leather’s fibres’.
However, these oils must still be replenished periodically to maintain proper lubrication and avert the tendency leather has to deteriorate under wear from abrasion, UV etc.
We feed the leather with the finest conditioner we can find in the world to re-instate the suppleness it should have and make the leather in your car a treat to be around while driving. The leather is also protected against UV and its life is dramatically prolonged.
